Rachael Altman presented alongside Nancy Faget, Naomi House, and Julie Watson at the ALA JobList Career Center at the ALA 2013 Annual Conference in Chicago. The session—Guess what you can do with your MLIS degree?—covered the countless opportunities for librarians and information professionals, including social media specialist, program planner, web content manager, writer, editor, archivist, research analyst, and, of course, librarian. The presentation served as an introduction to the collaborative eBook project between INALJ and CIFL volunteers. The two groups have made service to the community the primary method of working. The eBook will offer advice, success stories, tips and tricks for librarians and information professionals on the job market.
Margaret Driscoll has just begun a new position as Learning Organization Librarian in the Davidson Library at University of California Santa Barbara.
Congratulations to all current and former NMRT members who have been selected to participate in the ALA Leadership Institute.
