Description: A critical component of modern librarianship is collaboration. However, we rarely collaborate outside of our type of library. We will explore some of these obstacles as well as the opportunities that effective collaboration can yield. By recognizing and addressing common obstacles, we can help build relationships with librarians from different fields which can help us better utilize our collective knowledge and skills.
Speaker: Morgan Perry is a Community Resources Coordinator for Mid-Continent Public Library. As a founding member of the Square One Small Business Services team, she dedicated over eight years to making connections between the Library and resource partners across the Kansas City region and beyond to increase equity in access to entrepreneurial education. Her passion is taking the Library out of the branch and right into the heart of the community. Her innovative work with food businesses has been featured in two different books, Kansas City Food Trucks: Stories & Recipes and the American Library Association publication 'Round the Table: Food Literacy Program, Resources, and Ideas for Libraries. Morgan was named a 2022 Library Journal Mover & Shaker and she is the incoming Chair for the ALA RUSA BRASS Business Reference in Public Libraries Committee.
