Most enjoyable international library project/projects:
It is difficult to choose among the many international library-related experiences I have had, including participation in ALA delegations to Romania, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, and my most recent work abroad in the United Arab Emirates. I'd say, however, that a year's stint as a Fulbright lecturer at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey, was probably among the most memorable. That assignment gave me the opportunity to return to a country I first came to know as a Peace Corps volunteer, to make life-long friends among members of the Turkish library community, and to provide my family with a fascinating overseas adventure.
Three words to new IRRT members: Work abroad regularly
