In 2011, an existing member interest group devoted to gaming became the ALA’s Games and Gaming Round Table, devoted to advocating for gaming collections and programs in libraries of every stripe. Over the years, GameRT has expanded its activities significantly. National Games Day began in 2007 and with the support of overseas partners became International Games Day in 2012, then expanded even further into International Games Week in 2017. The Game On! grant program started in 2020, and in recent years the hard work of the membership has resulted in the creation of a slate of programs for the library world at large to enjoy.
