Pokémon Clubs at Your Library

AASL and ALSC have partnered with Pokémon to bring Pokémon Clubs to school and public libraries. Learn more about how to bring your young patrons together and create opportunities to grow and play together!

The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) and the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) have partnered with The Pokémon Company International to bring Pokémon Clubs to your library!

Through this partnership, AASL and ALSC will provide members with a Pokémon Club kit to participating libraries to run Pokémon Clubs for their communities. These kits will include materials, resources, scaffolded activities, and prizing for children ages 5-14 who are participating in these clubs.

Participation in the Pokémon Club program does require:

  1. That Pokémon Club coordinators are employed at a library or school in the US and its territories, a US military school, or Canada as library staff.
  2. Have ALA Membership falling in either the Type I, Type II or Student categories.
  3. Membership in either AASL or ALSC. (If you are not already a member or ALA or either division, you can find information about membership here.)

If you are an ALA Supporter, please work with a librarian at your local school or library to facilitate a Pokémon Club in concert with their staff.

If you are already a member of AASL or ALSC and would like to learn specifics about what is included in a kit and/or complete an application for participation in the program, you can find that information in the application link below. You must be logged into the ALA website to access the application page. For the best experience, ensure you are currently logged in before clicking the link below.
