America’s public libraries rely on fair licenses and market prices to provide equitable access to digital content, such as e-books and digital audiobooks. The American Library Association (ALA), with PLA, has long led national advocacy efforts to advance balanced copyright policy and prevent unfair and anti-competitive practices that limit libraries’ ability to meet their users’ reading and information needs.
In addition to continuing work with ALA colleagues, PLA is joining with national public library organizations representing the vast majority of public libraries in North America to call for change in e-book pricing models to improve access to digital content.
