A PLA 2020 Virtual Conference On-Demand Session
Leaders in middle management face a unique set of circumstances: they are responsible for carrying forward the key goals of upper management as well as the goals and needs of the staff they directly supervise. In this session, we identify which key skills are helpful to hone as a middle manager, possible pitfalls to avoid, and techniques on how to find points of cooperation in difficult situations.
Originally presented as part of the PLA 2020 Virtual Conference on February 27, 2020.
At the conclusion of this on-demand session, participants will be able to:
- Negotiate the needs of staff you supervise with high-level administrative goals;
- Identify key skills most useful for middle managers and how to utilize them in everyday situations; and
- Learn to effectively communicate between various communication styles and diverse populations.
