PLA is headed to Columbus, OH, April 3–5, 2024, to host the premier event for public libraries—PLA Conference! The PLA Conference offers over 100 top-quality education sessions—curated by public libraries for public libraries—that foster innovation, inclusion, and collaboration. Want to be a part of this can’t-miss event? Submit a proposal to share your idea for a workshop or program session! Proposals for both in-person and virtual programs are being accepted. The deadline for submitting proposals is May 1, 2023, at 11:59 PM Eastern.

If you have an idea for a webinar you'd like PLA to present, we encourage you to submit a proposal. PLA opens a call for webinar proposals twice per year, with deadlines of May 31 and November 30 of each year.

Write for Public Libraries Magazine
Public Libraries, published six times a year, is the official publication of the Public Library Association. ALA’s only journal devoted exclusively to public libraries, Public Libraries magazine offers important industry news, PLA/ALA updates, and columns and feature articles that offer strategies and ideas that can make a difference in your career. Submissions to Public Libraries are invited and encouraged. If you’re interested in writing a feature article, a shorter opinion piece, reviewing books, or sending press releases, please contact the editor, Kathleen Hughes at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your idea and deadlines.
