PLA People

People who work in public libraries are moved to do so by the extraordinary possibilities that libraries create. The PLA team understands this because we are library people ourselves. Our board and volunteers help the staff to cultivate a community of talented public library professionals where anyone can contribute, and everyone can grow.

2024 Election
Polls open March 11, 2024
Get to know your candidates and invest in the future of PLA and public libraries by being a part of the 2024 PLA election. Nominees will stand for three positions—PLA President, and two Directors-at-Large. These are crucial leadership roles that will guide PLA into the next several years, ensuring that PLA delivers on its core purpose to strengthen public libraries and their contribution to the communities they serve. PLA members in good standing as of January 31, 2023 will be able to cast a digital ballot to vote. Ballot emailing for the 2024 election will begin on March 11, 2024. The election will close April 3, 2024.
