A Note About Neighborhoods and Public Transportation (the “T”)

ALA Midwinter is located at the Hynes Convention Center in the Back Bay. The Convention Center is best served by the Hynes / ICA stop on the Green Line · B, C, or D trains. It can also be reached via the Prudential stop on the Green Line · E train.

Here are general routes and approximate trip times from various neighborhoods:

Back Bay:
Walking distance, or a 5-10 minute trip on the Green Line. From Boylston or Arlington stations, take Green Line B, C, or D train outbound to Hynes / ICA. From Copley square, the convention center is just a 5-minute walk up Boylston Street.

South End:
Taking the T from the South End is indirect and inefficient. A better idea is to walk through the Prudential Center / Copley Mall to the convention center. A taxi ride would be relatively inexpensive. Bus #39 from Back Bay station is also an option.

Kenmore Square (Home of the 2004 World Champion Red Sox!):
From Kenmore station, take the Green Line B, C, or D train inbound to Hynes / ICA. 5-minute trip. From Symphony Station, take the Green Line E train inbound to Prudential (5-minute trip) or the #39 bus, which picks up on Huntington Ave. and drops off in front of the Convention Center. Or if you can take the cold, walk five minutes down Huntington Ave. and walk through the Prudential Center to the convention center.

Beacon Hill:
From the Charles Station, take the Red Line inbound to Park Street. Switch to the Green Line. Take the B, C, or D train to Hynes / ICA. Approximately 15 minutes.

Brookline:
From Hawes, St. Mary, St. Paul, Coolidge Corner, and most other T stops in Brookline, take the Green Line C train inbound to Hynes / ICA. Time varies: 15-30 minutes.

Cambridge and Somerville:
From Central, Harvard, Porter, or Davis, take the Red Line inbound to Park Street. Switch to the Green Line and take the B, C, or D train to Hynes / ICA. Time varies: 20-40 minutes.

Downtown / North Station:
From North Station, take the Green Line to Hynes / ICA. You may need to board an E train and switch to a B, C or D train at Park Street. Or take the E train to Prudential. Time: 15 minutes.
