Laureen Cantwell, Reference & Distance Services Librarian at Colorado Mesa University, co-edited the short fiction anthology Memphis Noir, published by Akashic Books in November 2015, describing ”a rich volume of Southern urban noir exploring sides of Memphis that only the locals know, but often don’t reveal."
Arlene Catindig-Brown, Children's Programmer at the Kenton County Public Library, translated several children's books from English to Tagalog through the Mantra Lingua Publishing Company that is based in London. The English-Tagalog Bilingual Books circulate at the 3 branches of the KCPL under the translator's name: Arlene Sarmiento Catindig.
Mandi Goodsett and Andrew Walsh recently published an article about mentoring new academic librarians in College & Research Libraries. The article is titled "Building a Strong Foundation: Mentoring Programs for Novice Tenure Track Librarians in Academic Libraries."
Benjamin Hanley accepted a position as Digital Services/Reference Librarian at Barrington Public Library. He was formerly at Greenville Public Library and University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth as a Reference Librarian.
Ruth Harries accepted a position as Access & Instruction Librarian at Butler Community College in September 2015. She presented "Bringing Sanity Back to Difficult Interactions with Patrons" at the Kansas Library Association/Missouri Library Association Joint Conference in October 2015.
Alyssa Hislop recently received the 2016 Ralph Papakhian Travel Grant from the Music OCLC Users Group (MOUG). She is currently a Project Sound Recording Cataloger at Stanford University in the Archive of Recorded Sound.
Kayla Kuni from the New Port Richey Public Library was recently promoted to Data and Community Education Librarian. A program she founded benefiting a local adult training center was awarded ASCLA's Keystone Library Automation System, National Organization on Disability (KLAS/ NOD) Award in 2015. In addition to presenting information about this program at the Florida Library Association conference and at Georgia Council of Media Organizations (GaCOMO), she also co-presented a webinar through Programming Librarian about ways to create meaningful library programs for adults with special needs.
Francesca Marineo accepted a position as Instructional Design Librarian in August 2015 at Nevada State College in Henderson, NV.She wrote "Making the Most of Library School: How I Have Best Prepared Myself for the Road Ahead" in the May 2015 issue of NMRT Footnotes and is very please to say that she has in fact landed her dream job.
Sara Margaret Rizzo has joined Caldwell University as the Electronic Resources/Serials Management Librarian. Previously, she was a Reference & E-Resources Librarian at Nazarbayev University Library in Astana, Kazakhstan.
