Greetings, NMRT members:

I hope you all caught Andrew Jones's October 9, 2008 email to nmrt-l that asked for nominations to the NMRT Executive Board. We are looking for a new Vice President/President-Elect (three-year term, one as Vice President, one as President, and one as Past President), Secretary (one-year term), Leadership Director (two-year term), and Member Services Director (two-year term). Serving on the Board is a wonderful way to gain leadership experience and help shape the future of NMRT.

If you're planning on attending the Midwinter Meeting in Denver, please note that advance registration ends on December 5, 2008. You must be registered in order to use the ALA hotel registration service. Unfortunately all the NMRT rooms have been filled at the Comfort Inn -- clearly some of you have been on the ball and have registered early! Thanks to our treasurer, Amy Ferguson, for organizing the NMRT block!

On the topic of deadlines, several important NMRT award applications are due on December 17, 2008. This includes the 3M Professional Development Grant, the Shirley Olofson Memorial Award, and the Student Chapter of the Year Award. More information can be found at the
