Sigrid Hudson (MLIS, San Jose, 2006) was recently promoted to Children's Services Supervisor at the City of Commerce Public Library in Commerce, California. Also on October 18, 2008, Sigrid married Greg Bishop, author of Weird California and Project Beta.

Wendy Girven has a new job where she will be Assistant Professor of Library Science at the University of Alaska Southeast starting December 2008.

Clarissa Tomlinson started a new job in July as Emerging Technologies Librarian,Liaison to Gerontology, Nursing, Health Sciences and Cultural Studies at the Albert S. Cook Library at Towson University.

Erin Dorney (Syracuse University graduate, May 2008) has accepted a tenure-track position as the Outreach Librarian at Millersville University of Pennsylvania. She has also been selected as an ALA Emerging Leader and will be sponsored by the Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA).

Chella Vaidyanathan, Librarian/Assistant Professor of History, Political Science, U.S./International Government Docs. & GIS at the University of Miami has been selected as one of the participants in the Emerging Leaders 2009 program and has been sponsored by the Government Documents Roundtable (GODORT).

Joshua Finnell has been selected as a member of the 2009 Emerging Leaders Program.

Sandy Rodriguez, formerly the Cataloging and Metadata Librarian at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has been named the Special Project Cataloger at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Miller Nichols Library. The position is a result of a 2 1/2 year grant made available through the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Ciszek presented "Measuring Diversity in Collection Development: Strategies for the New Millennium" at the combined 2008 Kentucky Library Association / South East Library Association / Association of Research Libraries National Diversity In Libraries joint Conference. The conference was held in Louisville KY from October 1-4.
