President's Column

by Courtney L. Young

The 2009-2010 ALA Annual conference in Washington, D.C. is just around the corner. NMRT has a number of scheduled events. Our usual orientations, board meeting, and Committee/Information/Membership meeting will take place. The President's Program committee has organized a great panel, and I encourage you to read their announcement in this issue. NMRT is also co-sponsoring a program with REFORMA; I hope you will attend.

I especially encourage attendees from our student chapters and library schools to attend the Student Reception where the winner and runner-up of the Student Chapter of the Year Award will be recognized. NMRT will close out the conference with an Awards Reception where we will celebrate the recipients of the 3M Professional Development Grant and the Shirley Olofson Award.

Finally, the Annual Program committee is putting together a project that will be powered by you, whether or not you can make it to D.C. Please consider contributing to "The Member's Program." After all, NMRT is all about you!

The full schedule with room assignment information will be available soon on the
NMRT Web site, and the
NMRT Blog.

I look forward to seeing you at Annual!
