Tillett/Murray article wins ALCTS Outstanding Publication Award

CHICAGO — The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) Outstanding Publication Award recipients for 2013 are Ronald Murray and Barbara Tillett for their article “Cataloging Theory in Search of Graph Theory and other Ivory Towers” published in Information Technology and Libraries, vol. 309, no. 4 (December 2011), p. 170-184.

Judy Kuhagen Mann Citation recipient

Fountain named 2013 Marta Lange/CQ Press Award winner

CHICAGO – Kathi Carlisle Fountain, head of collection development at the Washington State University - Vancouver Library, has been awarded the 2013 Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Law and Political Science Section (LPSS) Marta Lange/CQ Press Award. The award, established in 1996 by LPSS, honors an academic or law librarian who has made distinguished contributions to bibliography and information service in law or political science.

Lizabeth A. Wilson wins 2013 Hugh C. Atkinson Memorial award

CHICAGO — Lizabeth (Betsy) A. Wilson, dean of university libraries at the University of Washington (UW), has been named the 2013 winner of the Hugh C. Atkinson Memorial Award. Wilson will receive a cash award and citation during the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago.

Named in honor of one of the pioneers of library automation, the Atkinson Award recognizes an academic librarian who has made significant contributions in the area of library automation or management, and has made notable improvements in library services or research.
