ALA Video Round Table Notable Videos for Adults Committee releases 2018 list

DENVER – The American Library Association (ALA) Video Round Table Notable Videos for Adults Committee has compiled its 2018 list of Notable Videos for Adults, a list of 15 outstanding films released on video within the past two years and suitable for all libraries serving adults.  Its purpose is to call attention to recent video releases that make a significant contribution to the world of video.  The list is compiled for use by librarians and the general adult populace.

FSU master's candidate receives Kino Lorber EDU/Video Round Table Annual Scholarship to assist future media librarians

New York — Art-house film distribution company Kino Lorber, Inc., has announced the second annual winner of a scholarship presented in collaboration with the Video Round Table (VRT) of the American Library Association (ALA). David William Rodriguez, a master's candidate at Florida State University, was selected from other online applicants by a panel of VRT members, based on criteria established for the scholarship.

CHICAGO — On Friday, June 26, at the 2015 ALA Annual Conference in San Francisco, the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS) brings you “Video Demystified: Cataloging with Best Practices Guides.” This all-day preconference — 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. — will provide an overview of cataloging video recordings using Resource Description and Access (RDA), MARC21 and the newly issued Online Audiovisual Catalogers (OLAC) best practices cataloging guides for DVD/Blu-ray discs and streaming media.
