Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT)

CHICAGO — The Martin Luther King, Jr. Task Force of the ALA Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT) and the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA) invite attendees of ALA’s Annual Conference to record their reflections on how the work and legacy of Dr. King has inspired them in their careers as librarians and information professionals. Tributes will be recorded from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 30 in Conference Room 4I at the Hilton Chicago.

SEATTLE — The Amelia Bloomer Project, a product of the ALA Social Responsibilities Round Table’s (SRRT) Feminist Taskforce, announced the 2013 Amelia Bloomer List at ALA’s Midwinter Meeting in Seattle, held Jan. 25-29, 2013.

The bibliography consists of well written and illustrated books with significant feminist content, intended for young readers from birth to 18 years old. This year’s list includes more than 50  titles published between July 1, 2011 and Dec. 31, 2012.

CHICAGO — “Extending Our Reach: Reducing Homelessness through Library Engagement,” the latest toolkit from the ALA Office for Literacy and Outreach Services (OLOS) is now available as a free print or digital edition.

DALLAS – The 2012 Rainbow Books list, a joint project of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Round Table (GLBTRT) and the Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT) of the American Library Association (ALA), was announced at ALA’s Midwinter Meeting held Jan. 20-23 in Dallas.
