2018 applications for the Will Eisner Graphic Novel Grants for Libraries now being accepted

CHICAGO  —  The American Library Association (ALA) and the Will and Ann Eisner Family Foundation are now accepting applications for the 2018 Will Eisner Graphic Novel Grants for Libraries, which recognize libraries for their role in the growth of graphic literature.

Due to ever-increasing demand, International Games Day became International Games Week in 2017! This week-long event is now more flexible and supports gaming across the spectrum of libraries. This year’s event will take place during the week of October 29th through November 4th.

AASL seeks gaming proposals

CHICAGO – The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) seeks proposals for sessions on tabletop and/or digital gaming to be presented during GAME | Gaming as Meaningful Education taking place Sept. 23-24, 2016, in Rochester, NY. Co-sponsored by the ALA Games and Gaming Round Table (GameRT), GAME will focus on how games encourage critical thinking, problem solving and creative activities. CHICAGO – Online registration is now open for a new two-day event from the American Association of School Librarians (AASL). GAME | Gaming As Meaningful Education, co-sponsored by the ALA Games and Gaming Round Table (GameRT), will focus on how games encourage critical thinking, problem solving and creative activities. Winners of the 2015 Will Eisner Graphic Novel Grants for Libraries announced

CHICAGO — The American Library Association (ALA) and the Will and Ann Eisner Family Foundation will honor the two winners of the 2015 Will Eisner Graphic Novel Grants for Libraries Saturday onsite at the ALA 2015 Annual Conference in San Francisco. The grants, funded by Will and Ann Eisner Family Foundation, are administered by ALA's Games and Gaming Round Table and the Graphic Novels & Comics in Libraries Member Initiative Group. ALA received more than 150 applications this year.

CHICAGO International Games Day (IGD) @ your library is an initiative run by volunteers from around the world and hosted by the American Library Association, in collaboration with Nordic Game Day and the Australian Library and Information Association, to reconnect communities through their libraries around the educational, recreational and social value of all types of games. On Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, libraries around the world will showcase gaming programs and services in support of IGD14. This year marks our 7th annual event.
