PHILADELPHIA — On May 4-5, 2015, hundreds of library supporters from all across the country will convene in Washington D.C., where they will be briefed on legislative issues affecting libraries and will meet with their members of Congress to discuss them.

Libraries showcase free financial resources

CHICAGO — Libraries from Maine to Hawaii will offer activities that will teach members of their communities how to hone their financial decision-making skills during “Money Smart Week @ your library,” April 18 – 25. More than 3,500 free Money Smart Week events will take place throughout the country on topics ranging from saving for college and managing student loan debt to budgeting and retirement. 

California Library Association will host five preconferences during the 2015 ALA Annual Conference

CHICAGO — The California Library Association (CLA) will host two preconferences on Thursday, June 25, and three preconferences on Friday, June 26, during the 2015 Annual Conference held by the American Library Association (ALA) in San Francisco, June 25-June 30. Registrants may view descriptions, registration costs and how to add these preconferences to their registration by visiting http://alaac15.ala.org/ticketed-events.

Hundreds of library supporters from all across the country will convene in Washington D.C., where they will be briefed on legislative issues affecting libraries and will meet with their members of Congress to discuss them.

Advocate for libraries by participating in Virtual Library Legislative Day May 6

PHILADELPHIA – Virtual Library Legislative Day is part of the American Library Association’s (ALA) National Library Legislative Day on May 5-6, when hundreds of library advocates will be on Capitol Hill to meet with members of Congress and their staffs. Library advocates who cannot make it to Capitol Hill for the event can still be a part of the effort by calling and/or emailing their elected officials on May 6, or anytime the week of May 5-9.

Advocate for libraries on a national level by participating in Virtual Library Legislative Day on May 8

PHILADELPHIA – Virtual Library Legislative Day is part of the American Library Association’s (ALA) National Library Legislative Day on May 8, when hundreds of library advocates will descend on Capitol Hill to meet with members of Congress and their staffs.
