Kurt Munson named 2018 Distinguished ILL Librarian

CHICAGO—Kurt Munson, Assistant Head of Access Services at Northwestern University Library was selected as the 2018 winner of the Sharing and Transforming Resources Section's (STARS) Virginia Boucher Distinguished ILL (Interlibrary Loan) Librarian Award, sponsored by OCLC, administered by the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association.

McElroy named 2018 winner of History Research and Innovation Award

CHICAGO—Jennifer McElroy, Reference Librarian at the Minnesota Historical Society, was selected as the 2018 winner of the Learning History Research and Innovation Award sponsored by Gale, A Cengage Company, administered by the History Section of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA). The award consists of $2,500 to help facilitate and further research relating to history and history librarianship.

New member opportunities as Emerging Technologies Section grows

CHICAGO—The Reference and User Services Association’s (RUSA) Emerging Technology Section (ETS) is transforming to better serve their members. Open Access Publishing in the Humanities: An online discussion

CHICAGO—The Reference and User Services Association’s (RUSA) History Section will co-host a free online discussion on the topic, “Open Access Publishing in the Humanities” from 3-4 pm EST on Wednesday, April 25th. The discussion will take place via the Zoom system hosted by H-Net and will also be recorded and archived for future use.

Rachel Holder receives BRASS Student Travel Award

CHICAGO—Rachel Holder, MLS candidate at Indiana University was selected as this year's recipient of the BRASS Student Travel Award sponsored by SimplyAnalytics. The award includes a $1,250 monetary prize given to a student enrolled in an ALA accredited master’s degree program to fund travel to and attendance at the ALA Annual Conference and a one-year membership in the Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA).

CHICAGO—Elizabeth (Beth) German, Service Design Librarian at Texas A&M University was elected as the 2018-2019 President-Elect of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association. German will serve her Presidential term during 2019-2020.
