Business reference experts select annual list of Best of the Best Business Reference Websites

BOSTON — The annual Best of the Best Business Reference Websites list is hereby announced.

The list made its first debut in 2009 in Reference and User Services Quarterly (RUSQ), RUSA’s research journal, and recognizes three websites highly relevant to information professionals involved in providing business reference services.

ALA unveils shortlist for 2016 Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction

CHICAGO-The American Library Association (ALA) today announced the six books shortlisted for the esteemed Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction, awarded for the previous year's best fiction and nonfiction books written for adult readers and published in the United States. The two medal winners will be announced by selection committee chair Nancy Pearl at the Reference and User Services Association’s Book and Media Awards event at ALA Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits in Boston on Sunday, January 10.

Longlist for 2016 Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction announced

CHICAGO — Forty books (20 fiction, 20 nonfiction) comprising the longlist for the 2016 Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction have been selected. The list is now available on the awards’ website. The six-title shortlist—three each for the fiction and nonfiction medals—will be chosen from these 40 titles and announced in mid-October 2015.

CHICAGO — Beginning Sept. 1, 2015, the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association, is seeking nominations for its annual series of achievement awards and grants. Nominations and supporting materials for most awards must be submitted by Dec. 4, 2015.
