Simone Wagner Awarded 2018 LITA/Christian Larew Memorial Scholarship

Simone Wagner has been selected to receive the 2018 LITA/Christian Larew Memorial Scholarship ($3,000) sponsored by the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) and Baker & Taylor. Wagner will be attending Simmons School of Library and Information Science starting in Fall 2018 to earn a Master of Science in Library and Information Science with a concentration in Cultural Heritage.

Colby Lewis Wins 2018 LITA/Ex Libris Student Writing Award

Colby Lewis has been selected as the winner of the 2018 Student Writing Award sponsored by Ex Libris Group and the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) for her paper titled "The Open Access Citation Advantage: Does It Exist and What Does It Mean for Libraries?" Lewis is a Master of Science in Information candidate at the University of Michigan School of Information.

Heather Moulaison Sandy Wins 2018 LITA/Library Hi Tech Award

Heather Moulaison Sandy has been named the winner of the 2018 LITA/Library Hi Tech Award for Outstanding Communication in Library and Information Technology. Emerald Publishing and the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) sponsor the Award, which recognizes outstanding individuals or institutions for their long-term contributions in the area of Library and Information Science technology and its application.
 

Emily Morton-Owens Elected 2019-20 LITA President; Tabatha Farney and Berika S. Williams elected to Board

Emily Morton-Owens, Assistant University Librarian for Digital Library Development and Systems at the University of Pennsylvania Libraries, has been elected the 2019-20 president of the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA). She will serve as vice-president during 2018-19 and will assume the presidency in July 2019.
