CHICAGO — The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), is pleased to announce that registration for the 2022 ALSC National Institute has opened. The conference will be held Sept. 29 – Oct. 1, 2022, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Prospective attendees will enjoy significant savings when they register before June 30, 2022. Included in the cost of registration are all programs and speaker events, networking opportunities, Thursday dinner, Saturday breakfast, and daily programming breaks. A full list of registration rates and prices is available on the ALSC website. Housing will be located at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Speakers and programs will be announced in February.

The National Institute is the premier event for programs and ideas related to children's library service. This intensive learning opportunity with a youth services focus is designed for front-line youth library staff, children’s literature experts, education and library school faculty members, and other interested adults. It is one of the only conferences devoted solely to children's librarianship, literature and technology and takes place every two years.

“The Task Force is so excited to welcome everyone to Kansas City, the Heart of America, for the in-person 2022 ALSC National Institute,” said Task Force Chair Crystal Faris. “The challenges of these past two years have also brought innovation and new trends to children’s librarianship and literature, and we look forward to exploring that through Institute programming centered on the 2022 theme: ‘Light Up the Future.’”
