CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) has named Elizabeth Molina, Middle School Librarian at Convent of the Sacred Heart, its 2021 Board Fellow.
“After being a member of YALSA for the last five years, I am really excited to become more involved as the YALSA Board Fellow,” said Molina. “It will be so exciting to get a peek at all the behind-the-scenes action and to make connections with amazing teen-focused librarians!”
Molina will serve a one-year term starting in June as a non-voting member on the YALSA Board. As a Board Fellow, Molina will participate fully in the year-round work of the Board by attending and participating in all face-to-face and virtual meetings and discussions. This includes attending ALA’s 2021 and 2022 Annual Conference and 2022 LibLearnX. To defray travel costs to the conferences, Molina will receive a $500 stipend for each conference.
The YALSA Board Fellow Program gives YALSA members an expanded opportunity to be involved in the leadership of the association. This opportunity is recommended for a member who has a track record of involvement in YALSA and who is ready to step up into a leadership position. The Board Fellow Program is funded by Friends of YALSA. To donate or learn more, please visit www.ala.org/yalsa/givetoyalsa/give.
