'Library Safety and Security,' new American Libraries Live episode, streams March 14

CHICAGO —American Libraries Live, a free, streaming video broadcast that you can view from your home, library or on-the-go, returns on at 2 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, Mar. 14 with a new episode. Our panel for this episode will include Cathy Hakala-Ausperk, Executive Director of the Northeast Ohio Regional Library System, >Elisabeth Doucett, director of the Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick, Maine; and Brett Lear, director of the Martin County Library System in Florida. They’ll engage in an interactive discussion that you can help shape via chat, Twitter and Facebook. The panel will discuss several aspects of library security, including topics like setting effective policies and training staff.
