Get the latest on e-books during PLA’s upcoming webinar
CHICAGO — At 1 p.m. Central time on Oct. 31, the Public Library Association (PLA) will host a live, hour-long webinar, “The State of E-Books in Public Libraries and Publishing” with instructor Jessica E. Moyer, assistant professor in the School of Information Studies, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She’ll help demystify libraries’ relationship with e-books by discussing the most recent developments between publishers and libraries, highlighting the newest e-readers and their functions, sharing current and best practices for managing e-book services and offering some perspective on what lies ahead for libraries and the ever-growing demand for e-books.
“The State of E-Books in Public Libraries and Publishing” is first in the three-part “PLA Conference Webinar Series.” PLA has developed this webinar series to present a selection of top programs and ConverStations with original presenters from PLA 2012 Conference. The other two webinars in this series are: "The Elusive Library Non-User" (Wednesday, Nov. 7) and "On Life Support, But Not Dead Yet! Revitalizing Reference for the 21st Century" (Thursday, Nov. 15). Save when you register for all three webinars. The cost to attend the entire series is $69 (PLA Members), $79 (ALA Members) and $89 (Nonmembers). Groups of any size can register for the entire series for $289.
Registration for the single webinar, “The State of E-Books in Public Libraries and Publishing” costs $28 (PLA Members), $31.50 (ALA Members) and $35 (Nonmembers). Groups of any size can register for individual webinars for $129.
