Like the institutions they support, the role of the public library worker is ever-changing. The COVID-19 crisis magnified this more than any of us could have imagined, but public libraries responded swiftly and creatively to meet their communities' evolving needs. The PLA 2022 Conference will also need to transform in order to provide public library professionals the opportunity to come together in person or virtually to reconnect with one another, recreate the services they provide and revitalize their passion for the work they do every day. We know that the pandemic has affected library and professional development budgets, so early planning for PLA 2022 is a must.
PLA 2022 is a professional event. It is not open to the public. Those requesting media registration must be currently employed by a publication or news organization. Media interested in attending the conference may contact the ALA Communications and Marketing Office, email@example.com, to register for media credentials. Please review our conference media policy.
PLEASE NOTE: PLA is working closely with the Oregon Convention Center and will be following state and local protocols to provide the safest environment for our attendees. At this time, we expect to offer the PLA 2022 Conference as an in-person event. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we also recognize that the situation remains fluid and is subject to change as circumstances dictate. We will share updates as they become available.
