Everyone knows that a library card is a ticket to far-off lands. Now through a partnership with IMAX and Warner Bros. Pictures, in conjunction with the March 19th release of the documentary adventure
Hubble 3D, ALA will help library users explore the universe.
Beginning this week, ALA will host Explore the universe @ your library®, giving kids in grades kindergarten through 12 the opportunity to win tickets to the newest IMAX movie
Hubble 3D, telescopes and other prizes.
The contest will be hosted on atyourlibrary.org, ALA’s public awareness website. To enter, kids answer a series of trivia questions about the Hubble Space Telescope. All kids who answer the questions correctly will be entered in a drawing to win one of seven prize packages. More information about the prizes and the official rules are available at
atyourlibrary.org/hubble. The contest will run through April 30.
Images from the Hubble Space Telescope have helped shed light on the age of the universe, reveal the existence of dark energy and contribute to other discoveries.
Hubble 3D will enable movie-goers to journey through distant galaxies and accompany space-walking astronauts as they attempt some of the most difficult tasks in NASA’s history. The film will offer a unique look into the Hubble Space Telescope’s legacy and highlight its impact on the way we view the universe and ourselves. Exclusive IMAX engagements of Hubble 3D begin March 19th.

Hubble 3D reunites the
Space Station 3D filmmaking team, led by Producer/Director Toni Myers. James Neihouse, Director of Photography, also doubles as the astronaut crew trainer. Judy Carroll is Associate Producer, and Graeme Ferguson, Co-founder of IMAX and pioneer Producer of many IMAX space films, is Executive Producer.
Hubble 3D is an IMAX and Warner Bros. Pictures production, in cooperation with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
