CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) will host an exhibit booth and a happy hour at the 2010 Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) Annual Conference, Jan. 12-15 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel.
YALSA will host the exhibit booth, where YALSA members and others can ask questions about the association, pick up swag and handouts and learn more about YALSA’s resources for academics and library school students. YALSA President Linda W. Braun will attend the meeting as well.
YALSA will host a happy hour (cash bar) at ALISE as well, from 5-7 p.m. on Jan. 12 at the Rattlesnake Bar, 384 Boylston Street, Boston with Braun and other member leaders in attendance. Attendees can connect with fellow YALSA members and library colleagues and win raffle prizes, including YALSA publications and more.
“Connecting with instructors who teach those who plan to work with teens in libraries and letting them know what YALSA offers, along with finding out about the conversations they have in their classrooms, helps YALSA to develop programs and services that meet the needs of all members: academic, student, and practicing librarians,” Braun said.
For more than 50 years, YALSA has been the world leader in selecting books, videos and audio books for teens. For more information about YALSA or for lists of recommended reading, viewing and listening, go to
