For Immediate Release

April 15, 2010

CHICAGO— In anticipation of Teen Read Week,
ALA Graphics releases a poster, bookmark, and several digital art files, representing Books with Beat @ your library—this year’s theme. Designed with visuals that resemble a band gig poster, the Teen Read Week products suggest many interpretations of the theme, a creative starting point for dynamic events in schools, public libraries, and bookstores to inspire young adults to discover new genres, check out poetry, listen to audiobooks, and more.

For more than a decade, librarians and educators nationwide have come together in October to encourage teens to “Read for the Fun of It!” during
YALSA’s annual
Teen Read Week™ celebration. YALSA launched the 2010 Teen Read Week website at
www.ala.org/teenread on Support Teen Literature Day, April 15, 2010. The site will offer librarians tools for planning their 2010 event, including program ideas, planning resources, publicity tools and more.

Find the complete line of Books with Beat offerings at the
ALA Store, where your purchases fund advocacy, awareness and accreditation programs for library professionals worldwide.
