CHICAGO— The first day of registration for the 2010 ALA Midwinter Meeting is Oct. 1, 2009. Registration for the meeting, to be held Jan. 15-19, 2010 in Boston, will open at 9 a.m. CT.
Beginning Oct.1, 2009, participants can register online through the ALA Web site, by fax or by mail. Hotel reservations can also be made at this time. Attendees must be registered for the Midwinter Meeting before they can make a hotel reservation.
Also on Oct.1, 2009, participants can sign-up for the institutes and optional events to be held at the meeting. If you registered for the “Bundle” you can go back into the system and sign-up for the institutes and optional events.
Advance Registration, available until Dec. 4, 2009, will ensure the lowest rates. For rates listed in detail, visit:

Registration to the ALA Midwinter Meeting provides entrance to the exhibits and other events, including: the Adult Literature Spotlight, the Technology Showcase and more than 200 discussion groups. Also included in your registration is: entrance to the ALA President’s Program, the ALA/ERT Author Forum and the Sunrise Speaker Series.
