ALA gears up for the 2010 election

CHICAGO – The American Library Association (ALA) is preparing for its annual election.
As with last year’s election, the upcoming election will be held online, with one exception. Members who are homebound and have no Internet access can obtain a paper ballot by contacting ALA customer service at 1 (800) 545-2433, ext. 5.
To be eligible to vote, you must be a member in good standing as of Jan. 31, 2010.
Polls will open on March 16. Polls will close on April 23 at 11:59 p.m. CST. When the polls open, the ALA will notify voters by e-mail, providing them with their unique passcodes and information about how to vote online.
It is important that members make sure that they are able to receive e-mail transmission well before the polls open. Information needed to White List the election material e-mail:

All bounced and duplicate e-mail addresses will be mailed credentials via the U.S. Postal Service, beginning March 15, 2010.
