Smart investing @ your library, a grant program offered by the FINRA Investor Education Foundation and the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association, is one of 17 programs to receive an Award of Excellence from the 2009 Associations Advance America (AAA) Awards program, sponsored by
ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership.
Now in its 19th year, the AAA Awards program recognizes associations and industry partners that improve the quality of life in America with innovative programs in education, skills training, standard setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship and community service. Smart investing @ your library offers grant opportunities to support library efforts to provide millions of patrons with effective, unbiased financial education resources. The latest group of grantees announced in January 2009 were awarded nearly $882,000 in grants to 12 recipients. It marked the second year of this educational partnership, which awarded more than $853,000 to 13 public libraries and library networks in 2008.
Seventeen programs were honored with a 2009 AAA Award of Excellence. Winners are automatically entered into consideration for the Summit Award, ASAE & The Center’s highest association honor. Summit Award winners were honored at ASAE & The Center’s Summit Awards Dinner, September 29 in Washington, D.C.
The
FINRA Investor Education Foundation supports innovative research and educational projects that give underserved Americans the knowledge, skills and tools necessary for financial success throughout life.
