CHICAGO —Tickets are still available for the YALSA Happy Hour and Fashion Show on July 10 and the Morris Award Presentation and YA Author Coffee Klatch on July 12, both presented by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) at the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Chicago.Â

The YALSA Happy Hour and Fashion Show, hosted by Steven Rosengard of “Project Runway” Season 4 fame, begins at 5 p.m. Â Stylish librarians will walk the runway, giving examples of how to be fashionable without breaking the bank. The fashion show will also feature makeovers and tips that attendees can take home. Tickets cost $10 and include a drink ticket, courtesy of event sponsor Disney-Hyperion Books.

The Morris Awards Presentation and YA Author Coffee Klatch will begin with the presentation of the first William C. Morris Award to Elizabeth C. Bunce, whose debut novel, “A Curse Dark as Gold” will be honored. After Bunce’s acceptance speech, the event will move to a speed-dating format in which attendees will mingle in an informal breakfast setting with popular young adult authors whose books have appeared on YALSA’s Popular Paperbacks and Quick Picks lists. The second half of the event is sponsored by Disney-Hyperion Books. Participating authors include Jim Benton, Sarah Dessen, Kimberly Pauley, Yasmin Shiraz and Jacqueline Woodson.
