CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), named Heidi Dolamore, community library manager at the Contra Costa County Library in San Pablo, Calif., the manager of the YALSA Blog,
http://yalsa.ala.org/blog. Dolamore’s three-year term will begin in July 2009.

As blog manager, Dolamore will work with YALSA to oversee the content and look of the blog and recruit and oversee bloggers for the site. The YALSA blog receives more than 13,000 page views per month.

“The YALSA blog is a great place to stay informed about new trends in young adult services and provides a lively discussion forum,” Dolamore said. “There's so much energy and momentum with YALSA right now, and I'm excited to have this opportunity to learn from everyone involved with YALSA. Not only are there some phenomenal role models for developing individual leadership skills, the division as a whole provides an example of how to work effectively and collaboratively to accomplish your goals.”

The mission of the YALSA Blog is to provide a fast, focused and flexible format for publishing information about time-sensitive issues such as news in the YA field, programs, conferences, initiatives, resources and activities of use to YALSA members and the young adult librarianship community.

For more than 50 years, YALSA has been the world leader in selecting books, videos and audio books for teens. For more information about YALSA or for lists of recommended reading, viewing and listening, go to
