From 9:45 a.m. until noon PST/LST on Tuesday, March 17, the American Library Association’s (ALA) Recruitment Assembly will celebrate “Adventures in Children’s Literature: Careers for School, Public, and Academic Librarians” in Second Life.

Do you love children's books? Are they inspiring you to consider a career as a librarian? Come join the assembly on ALA Island (SLurl:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/ALA%20Island/128/103/29) for an eclectic event celebrating library careers in children's literature. We'll hear from public librarians, school librarians and even academic librarians whose work involves promoting a love of reading in young people.

Nationally recognized children's literature authors will be the highlight of this event. Sessions will be presented via live video stream and will include authors Vivian Vande Velde (
http://www.vivianvandevelde.com) and Sneed Collard (
http://www.author-illustr-source.com/sneedbcollard.htm), as well as children's book illustrator Robin Brickman (
http://www.robinbrickman.com/). All three artists will appear on the ALA Island's Main Stage as part of the 41st Annual Children's Literature Festival, taking place on the University of Central Missouri campus.

Sponsored by the American Library Association’s (ALA) Recruitment Assembly. Come join us!
