CHICAGO – Information on how libraries can spread a positive message about their value in today’s tough economic climate can be found by visiting Visibility @ your library (
www.pio.ala.org/visibility), the American Library Association’s Public Information Office (PIO) blog.

PIO worked with NBC’s “Today Show” on this segment and has followed up to encourage NBC affiliates to take up the story locally.

But librarians can also use resources from the ALA to reinforce this positive message. You can include the “Today Show” link on your library Web site – the embed code is available at the PIO blog. You can also link to national data from the ALA by visiting the blog, which also contains links to free ALA resources, including a Public Library Association (PLA) toolkit - to help tell your story to media, elected officials and fundraisers.

In addition, you will find e-mail addresses for questions regarding other media relations or advocacy tools.

Visibility @ your library provides librarians and library supporters with news and information about important communications issues from ALA’s Public Information Office and the Campaign for America’s Libraries. It also contains links to the latest ALA News.
