Chicago broadcasting legend to lead media training at ALA Annual Conference

CHICAGO – Veteran broadcaster and media trainer Dave Baum will be hosting a media relations training session during the American Library Association’s (ALA) 2009 Annual Conference in Chicago.

To be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, Baum will provide tips on how librarians can effectively deliver their key messages and garner favorable media coverage. The training will take place at McCormick Place West, room W-194b.

Principal of the Dave Baum Media Group, Baum has over four decades of experience reporting and interpreting news and sports to radio, TV and print audiences in Chicago, covering such beats as the Chicago City Council, Illinois General Assembly and presidential campaigns from Johnson-Goldwater in 1964 to Bush-Clinton in 1992. He has appeared on WSCR, CBS Sportsradio670, in Chicago, and currently is the host of “The Dave Baum Show,” an Internet radio show, which can be heard in 112 countries around the world.
