CHICAGO – New York Times bestselling children’s author and actress Jamie Lee Curtis, the honorary chair of National Library Week (April 12-18, 2009), will lend her image to a print public service announcement (PSA) featuring the 2009 National Library Week theme, “Worlds connect @ your library.” The PSA is also available for libraries to use in their public relations efforts.
Other tools include a proclamation, sample press release and letter-to-the-editor, as well as scripts for use in radio public service announcements (PSAs). Materials are available in both English and Spanish
Libraries can download materials, including the PSA, for free at
www.ala.org/nlw.
ALA Graphics products supporting the “Worlds connect” theme are also available. In addition to traditional posters and bookmarks, libraries can also purchase mini posters, luggage tags and a banner. All National Library Week products can be purchased through the ALA Store at
www.alastore.ala.org.
Libraries planning to participate in “Worlds connect @ your library” themed programming are encouraged to share their stories with the Campaign for America’s Libraries, by sending an e-mail to
