The early bird registration deadline has been extended for the 2009 LITA National Forum, "Open & Mobile," to be held Oct. 1-4 at the Hilton City Center Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Keynote sessions anchor the event and include speakers Joan Lippincott, David Weinberger and Liz Lawley.Ã More than 30 concurrent sessions and 10 poster sessions provide a wealth of practical information on a wide range of topics. Two preconference workshops, The Future of Mobile, presented by Jason Griffey of the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, and Accessibility Update: Section 508 and WCAG in a Library 2.0 World, presented by Nina McHale of the University of Colorado, Denver are also available. In addition, LITA Forum 2009 offers two sessions of nine five-minute lightning talks on Friday and Saturday. Lightning talks are snappy presentations that are great fun for attendees and an opportunity for presenters to showcase late-breaking ideas, trends and achievements.
