Contributors to a new endowment fund supporting the advancement of the American Library Association’s (ALA) role in the field of international library relations will be given special recognition at the ALA annual conference in July in Chicago.
At the Midwinter Meeting of the American Library Association (ALA) in Denver, the International Relations Round Table (IRRT), ALA’s membership unit concerned with advancing ALA’s role in international library relations, announced a “Sixty for Sixty” campaign to create an endowment to support ongoing programmatic activity. IRRT, which is marking the 60th anniversary of its founding in 1949, has established the endowment goal at $60,000, to be raised by the end of the year.
IRRT members and library leaders involved with international library affairs are being contacted as part of the campaign. IRRT past chairs Jordan Scepanski and Lea Wells are leading the campaign steering committee. Members include Donna McCool, Sha Li Zhang, Jeannette Pierce and IRRT staff liaison Delin Guerra.
