CHICAGO—Camila Alire, American Library Association (ALA) president-elect, is encouraging members to volunteer for appointment and/or reappointment to the 2009-2010 ALA and Council committees.

Although the deadline for submitting a volunteer form is Dec. 5, Alire and the selection committees have already begun reviewing completed volunteer forms.

To volunteer for a committee, complete the online committee volunteer form at:

http://www.ala.org/ala/aboutala/governance/council/councilcommittees/volunteerform.cfm

Alire and the members of the Committee on Appointments and Committee on Committees encourage members to complete an online committee volunteer form to be considered for reappointment and/or or appointment as a member to a committee or for appointment as an intern on a committee.
