Deadline approaching to submit PLA National Conference Program proposal

The deadline to submit a program proposal for the Public Library Association’s (PLA) 13th National Conference, scheduled for March 23-27, 2010, is quickly approaching. Program proposals may be submitted until Nov. 30, 2008 through an online form, available on the conference website at
www.placonference.org. Faxed, e-mailed or mailed proposals will not be accepted.
A committee appointed by the PLA president will review all submitted proposals and select conference programs based on their relevance to the profession and general interest to conference attendees. The committee is chaired by Kathleen R.T. Imhoff. Organizers will be notified whether or not proposals are accepted in March 2009.
All programs at the PLA conference are 75 minutes long. Preconferences can be one-half day, one-day or one-and-a-half days long. Program topics will include: Facilities, Collections, Staff, Technology, Leadership, Adult Services, Adult Programs, Children's Services, Young Adult Services, Information/Reference Services, Special Populations, Technical Services, Marketing/Fund-raising/Partnerships, Partnerships, Administration/Management and Reader's Advisory.
