Get acquainted with the redesigned ALA Web site at Annual

Visitors to the 2008 ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim, Calif., will have the opportunity to view the revamped ALA Web site in its latest incarnation.

Rob Carlson, ALA Manager of Web Development, will make two 15-minute presentations – one at 2 p.m. and another at 3 p.m. – on Monday, June 30, at booth 1840, the Membership Pavilion, in the Exhibits Hall of the Anaheim Convention Center.

Carlson said ALA staff has been working diligently to implement the new folder structure and information architecture, the product of an 18-month usability assessment and redesign process.

“ALA assumed a non-trivial mission as they moved forward to redesign the ALA Web site under the guidance of the usability expertise provided by UserWorks,” said Billie Peterson-Lugo, chair of the ALA Website Advisory Committee. “Throughout this process, many stakeholders had opportunities to contribute to the design of a user-centric web site which will serve the organization, its members, and non-members well. It’s exciting to be at the point of unveiling the redesigned web site.”
