CHICAGO - The ALA Workplace Wellness Task Force will host a Wellness Fair on Sunday, June 29, during the ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim, Calif., June 26 - July 2, 2008. In conjunction with this event, the Task Force invites poster session proposals relating to the program's theme, "Be Well at Work." Selected posters will be displayed during the Wellness Fair. The
deadline for submissions is March 15, 2008.

Please help share examples of successful workplace wellness initiatives for library employees. Suggested poster session subjects include diet and nutrition, ergonomics, exercise incentives, health education, health screenings, sick building syndrome and stress management. However, proposals relating to initiatives on any wellness issue are welcome.

The ALA Workplace Wellness Task Force will select posters for the Wellness Fair based on quality, and holds a goal to represent a variety of wellness program themes and library types.

Submissions should include a brief description of the poster session (250 words or less), your name, institution, phone, fax, e-mail address and poster title. Submissions should be addressed to Lynne Ring, member, ALA Workplace Wellness Task Force, via e-mail at, and must be received no later than March 15, 2008.

Poster Session entries will be reviewed upon receipt, and those selected will be notified by April 15, 2008.

As part of ALA President Loriene Roy's presidential initiative, the mission of the Workplace Wellness Task Force is to produce tangible expressions that promote healthy workplaces and lifestyles among library workers. For more information on the ALA Workplace Wellness Task Force please visit
