Nominations sought for RUSA Emerald Research Grant Award

CHICAGO-The Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), announces a call for nominations for the 2008 Emerald Research Grant Award. The deadline for submitting nominations is Dec. 15.

Two $5,000 cash awards, donated by Emerald Group Publishing Limited, will be given to ALA members seeking support in conducting research in business librarianship. The Emerald Group Publishing Limited is a leading English-language publisher of academic and professional literature in the fields of management, library services and engineering.

"Business librarians are curious and entrepreneurial professionals," said Jennifer Boettcher, BRASS Development Committee chair. "I am sure the results of the research will benefit the field of librarianship in public and academic business collections, education or community development."

More information on this award is available at the RUSA awards web page at http://www.ala.org/ala/rusa/rusaawards/emeraldgrant.htm.

The Reference and User Services Association (http://www.ala.org/) is the leading association for reference and user services professionals.
