ABDO Publishing Group to sponsor Celebrate Conference in Reno, Nev.
CHICAGO – ABDO Publishing Group will sponsor the Celebrate Conference session at the 13th National Conference & Exhibition of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), a division of the American Library Association (ALA). The conference will be held October 25-28, in Reno, Nev.
Celebrate Conference, a welcome and orientation for first-time attendees, will be held on Thursday, October 25, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
“Celebrate Conference is a great opportunity for new attendees to learn about the conference and about AASL,” said Carl Harvey, National Conference Committee co-chair. “During the session, association leaders will share the wealth of their experience and give tips about how to get the most out of conference – we urge all first-time attendees to join the fun!”
Boxed lunches will be provided for 200 first-time attendees, sponsored by ABDO Publishing Group.
“School librarians change lives every day; we’ve seen that in our 25 years of publishing,” noted Paul Abdo, editor-in-chief for the Edina, Minn., based publisher. “That difference in a child’s life is what we want to celebrate with AASL. We’re honored to be part of helping new AASL attendees learn from their colleagues about making the most of the conference. The skills, techniques, and other things we can learn together can make the difference to the students we serve.”
The AASL National Conference will feature three full-day and five half-day preconference workshops, several school and educational tours, more than 100 educational sessions, author events and more than 200 exhibiting companies. Registration is now open at
