Area tours show off best of Minnesota at PLA 2008
CHICAGO - The Public Library Association (PLA) is pleased to offer a variety of local tours to registrants at PLA 2008, the association's 12th National Conference, to be held March 25-29 in Minneapolis. Area tours will take participants to historical landmarks, literary hotspots and popular tourist destinations, including historic Stillwater, Minn., the Mayo Medical Library and the Mall of America. Book-minded travelers will be delighted by the "Life & Times of F. Scott Fitzgerald Tour," the "Unique Bookstore Tour" and the "Central Libraries Tour." Visit

Tours are offered Tuesday, March 25, Wednesday, March 26, and Saturday, March 29, and last from three to eight hours. Area tours require a separate fee from conference registration. Early registration is advised, as tours tend to sell out quickly. To sign up for a tour at PLA 2008, visit

Offered biennially, the PLA National Conference is the premier event for public libraries, drawing librarians, library support staff, trustees, Friends and library vendors from across the country and around the world.
