PLA to present PLDS Database demo at ALA Annual Conference

CHICAGO – The Public Library Association (PLA) will present two live demonstrations of their new Public Library Data Service (PLDS) Statistical Report Online Database. Demonstrations will take place Saturday, June 23, at the PLA Booth, part of the American Library Association (ALA) Membership Pavilion, in the Exhibits Hall, from 2 to 3 pm, and at the Grand Hyatt Washington in the Roosevelt/Wilson Room from 4 to 5:30 pm.

Available for purchase as a one-year subscription, the PLDS Online Database features customizable reports and data sets in multiple formats, as well as user-defined charts and graphs. The PLDS Online Database is the perfect supplement to the widely referenced PLDS Statistical Report, which is designed to provide public library administrators and others with timely and library-specific data that illuminates and supports a wide variety of management decisions.

To order a copy of the PLDS Statistical Report, or a subscription to the Online Database, please obtain an order form at www.pla.org, under “Publications and Reports.” Order forms must be faxed to the PLA office at (312) 280-5029. Discounts are available for ALA and PLA members. Subscribers to the PLDS Statistical Report standing order plan do not need to reorder. Please contact the ALA Store (1-866-746-7252) with questions regarding standing orders. Past editions of the PLDS Statistical Report may be ordered by calling the ALA Store (1-866-746-7252).
