May 30 is last day to register for the Parade of Bookmobiles

CHICAGO - A rally called “A Parade of Bookmobiles” is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26 at the American Library Association’s (ALA’s) Annual Conference in Washington, DC. Libraries have until May 30 to register their bookmobiles by emailing olos@ala.org.

ALA, through its Office for Literacy and Outreach Services (OLOS), is organizing the event on Tuesday, June 26, in conjunction with its Subcommittee on Library Services to bookmobiles, with support of the Association of bookmobile &* Outreach Services (ABOS).

The historic parade will coincide with ALA’s congressional lobbying efforts and allow bookmobile staff to share benefits and resources of mobile libraries with congressional representatives from individual states.

Library information should include:

-Name of library

-Name of chief library administrator/director & direct contact information

-Mailing addresses and telephone numbers of driver(s) and other accompanying staff
